Have you NAILED your website? 
 
Here's the scenario I commonly see play out…
 
Sarah wants to start seeing some patients on the side to start a cash pay PT practice. She plans to grow the practice while keeping her current job, and then transition to just working for herself.
 
Sarah is just starting out, and so she wants to keep expenses minimal as possible. 
 
She's going to go to patients homes for a while and keep her own free documentation to keep overhead low. 
 
Sarah realizes she needs a website to prove she exists online, so she spends her own time throwing together a DIY website online that says she's different because she sees patients 1-on-1 and gets people better faster.
 
After a while she has a handful of patients but has hit a plateau…maybe she's seeing 5-7 a week consistently, but really wants to take her business seriously and quit her "run of the mill" PT job. 
 
She starts learning about business, joins a mastermind group, and finds out about all these cool online marketing techniques. She starts spending time and money getting more people to her website, only to have ZERO new leads…what is wrong?!
 
Her website. 
 
You could replace "Sarah" with "Christine" and you would have my story…and many other PT's stories. 
 
You start off small, taste a little success, and then get serious about your business, only to realize that you've skipped an important step. 
 
You MUST have your website NAILED in order to get new patients from the internet. 
 
I'm a big believe that no matter where you are in starting your PT business, if you're serious about growing and scaling, the first thing you need to do is get your website rock solid. 
 
It doesn't matter how many paid ads you invest in, how many business cards you hand out, or how many promotions you run, if you don't have a "home base", then you are wasting TIME and MONEY. 
 
It used to be that if you mom or best friend recommended someone, you didn't even look them up, you just gave them a call and scheduled an appointment.
 
But…times have changed.
 
Even if your closest and most trusted friends and family recommend something to you…you look it up online.
 
You read STRANGERS reviews. You compare to other options. 
 
The reality is people don't make decisions just based on one person's opinion anymore. The internet has changed this decision-making process.
 
And that means you can't just have a website that's a "glorified resume" or a "pretty online business card". 
 
That is NOT going to bring in new patients to grow and scale your business. Period.
 
So what exactly do I mean by "have your website nailed?" 
 
Your website has to CONVERT. 
 
This means, that when people visit your website, they need to be drawn to taking some form of action…whether that's filling out a form, making an inquiry, picking up the phone, downloading a freebie…
 
Your website should be your marketing asset that is working for your 24-7. 
 
You should wake up in the morning to find new patient leads you can follow up with.
 
That's how you grow and scale a business…without being dependent on doctor referrals, or word of mouth, or anything else that is NOT under your control…
 
So no matter where you are in your business, you need to NAIL your website. 
 
That way you can confidently send traffic to you website, such as paid ads, knowing that you'll capture new potential patient leads to grow your business. 
 
And that's what you want, right?! More new patients from the internet! 
 
Don't miss this crucial step. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can skimp and "go cheap" on the website.
 
While it may save you money in the short term, it's really going to stunt your business' growth in the long run .
